Fourth Karachi Biennale KB24
To bring contemporary art directly to the public, the Karachi Biennale Trust conducted extensive outreach workshops, research projects, and foreign exchange programs in the lead-up to and during KB24. These initiatives connected schools, young artists, scholars, and local communities, cultivating creativity and public dialogue throughout Karachi.
Supported by National Foods, the KB24 Educational Programming aimed to integrate artistic creativity with primary and secondary education. Through structured workshops led by art mentors, students explored the theme of food security, climate, and creative expression. The program culminated in a public exhibition showcasing the kids' unique works.
In partnership with the Culture, Tourism & Antiquities Department, Government of Sindh, KB24 hosted a Pecha Kucha style workshop format for young art aspirants. This rapid-presentation session tested their ability to articulate complex art concepts under severe time constraints, fostering quick thinking and verbal confidence.
The Research & Archival Project investigated the legacy of print media and literature surrounding food culture and environmental history in Pakistan. Mentors guided researchers through archival copies of pioneering local publications to uncover historical connections and narrative patterns.
Renowned Polish visual artist Anna Konik visited Pakistan to conduct intensive creative workshops and site visits. Her exchange explored artistic methods of addressing human experiences of displacement, isolation, and ecological adaptation.
